Praying Through the College Years
Decisions, decisions, decisions. The choices our sons and daughters face during their young-adult years have lifetime significance: career goals, where to live and work, who to marry. College kids face day-to-day choices that have long-term consequences: to attend class or to sleep in; to study or to party; to say "no" to drugs and promiscuity or to give in; to stand strong in Christ or to deny Him. Whether they attend a Christian or a secular school, students are surrounded by temptations. During these crucial years more individuals turn away from Christ than at any other time in life. Even those who seem grounded in their faith can give way under intense peer pressure, mockery from atheist professors, and constant beckoning of a godless worldview. Our young-adult kids need prayer like never before in their lives. That's why MITI offers groups specifically for moms of college-age children. One MITI mom put it this way, "As college moms, we can no longer help our children as we did when they were kindergartners, but because we have developed a pattern of praying and trusting God, we have confidence that He will continue His work in them." God uses the prayers of college Moms In Touch groups to surround our students and their campuses in a cloak of protection. He replaces our worry and fear with His hope and peace. more>>
